I’ve been running a hf 1.5ton jack that’s lived in the jeep for the past 4 years as I’ve lived in an apartment for college. I have now moved into a house and use the stock jack for emergency’s and use the 1.5ton as the garage jack but it has now died on me so I’m in need of a new jack and want to go up in size since it’s not living in the back of the jeep.
There are 3 main jacks I’ve been looking at all that seem to have a tall enough lift height for a jeep since that was a big issue with a smaller jack.
1. The pro eagle Abram’s. https://www.proeagle.com/products/3-ton-shop-jack-abrams at 300 bucks it checks all the boxes of low enough height to work on my wife’s car but also being tall enough for the jeep (bonus has the extension that is bolted to the jack so it won’t tip over like using a 4x4 block of wood does) only thing is it’s still 300 and 370 if I add the extension.
2. The harbor freight badlands. https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...xcOjtzVLhCKkJRe7Um9PWczNe6XnwIRBoC9HwQAvD_BwE. At 400 bucks it does comes with the extension but it also has the taller minimum lift height so some cars might be a paint to use it with. Another plus is they go sale often and I can pick it up locally.
3. And 4. hf also has the long reach jack ($269, 24.25 inch lift, https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...al-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-blue-56641.html and a super duty jack ($299, 23 inch lift, https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...ck-with-rapid-pump-metallic-purple-70611.html)
They’re both cheaper and if I would never use the extension then why spend more for it.
Curious in what everyone else is using since the skid height of 19inches is the minimum but do yall use the jack for anything higher like rock sliders?
