Hi everyone, I’ve been using these forums for a long time but have never had a reason to make an account and post anything myself until now.

I had some slop for a while in my steering and decided I wanted to do everything I could to make my steering feel great.

I threw a currectlync on and decided I wanted to put a PSC steering gearbox on since it seemed to be what everyone really likes compared to how unreliable the others are. I ordered the box alongside swepco 715 and got to work.

Something I learned very quickly is that the oem lines do not match up and I would be needing to go to a hydro store to get something that fits much better. Finally I got everything together and filled my reservoir as much as I could, turning chalk to chalk with the vehicle off due to being paranoid of burning the gearbox.

As I was turning the wheel with the vehicle off, I had resistance when I wanted to turn the wheel to the right and would have to turn to the right in increments. After deciding to turn it on, the steering wheel violently turned itself all the way to the left and anytime I turned it to the right slightly, it would fight me and throw itself back to the left.

I quickly turned the jeep off and thought I might’ve flipped the high pressure and return lines on accident so I went under the box and flipped. Turning the wheel while the jeep was off had resistance moving the wheel to the left and to no surprise, when I turned the jeep on, the steering wheel would throw violently to the right.

I have a video of it but am not sure how to upload it to here.

Call PSC and explain it to them. I suspect the steering valve got welded on in the wrong spot and they'll send out a new one. (that is unless you left out some obvious detail)
