Mispellings on the Forum

How about a sister thread on terminology? Like the difference between cranking, turning over and starting? I used to get into arguments with my brother in law when he worked for me for using the wrong terminology, in the electrical trade that can lead to problems. Part of an apprenticeship is learning the correct names for every product we use and every wiring method.

Terminology yes, had a customer brought vehicle in, the writer said it was pulling. Which way? Don’t know. Drove up the street and took my hands off the wheel, straight as can be. I spoke to the customer. She kept repeating its pulling, I finally got to the issue. The throttle would stick at high idle causing the vehicle to pull away. 🤣

I have the same problem with my wife. When we need to have a 30-second conversation, it takes 10 minutes to define the terminology so we're both speaking the same language. :D

One that really gets me is grill vs grille. That happened just yesterday, again.

I can tell you why. My next door neighbor (and her wife) are some the most miserable people I've ever met. 🤪

That’s a x10 grammatical error.

The unfortunate thing is you can’t tale them that.
