Soft Top Decision Just Got Harder

I really like this feature. It is nice to be able to keep the windows in on the highway and then remove them on the trail and have somewhere somewhat safe to put them.

It works into the air down prep, and a bonus is they're all straight zippers. So unlike the bends in the bestop it's pretty hard to fuck them up until the wear gets to the stitches and fabric.

For mine the rear window never quite fit right and tore I think the third time I tried to install it ☹️ side windows still going strong though!

Dang you guys got me excited. I've been wanting to go with an oem style framed top for my LJ and thought maybe that would be on sale, too but it's still $1399 like always. 😢

Honestly maybe it wouldn't hurt to check local sales might be able to find a soft top frame on craigslist or marketplace. The replacement skin is $399 right now. I bought my frame with oem skin 5ish years ago for $150

We went from an inexpensive Rampage top to a Bestop Supertop in Twill.

The Rampage top fit fine and worked as well as one would expect a $400 soft top to work.
It lasted about 6-7 years in the SoCal sun before several of the threads began to disintegrate from UV exposure (my best guess).
I repaired it a couple of times using a sewing awl, but when the entire seam along the door top gave up, so did I.
Rampage does not offer any replacement hardware, so a complete new top was in order for us.

Rather than buy another "inexpensive" soft top, we opted to sell our hard top and put that $$ towards a better soft top.
There have been issues w/ our Bestop, but nothing major.

I'm not a fan of how they market the Sunrider feature on the TJ; it is nowhere near as useful on the TJ top as it is on the JK (Freedom panel area only).
You cannot open the Sunrider on the TJ while seated, as it requires the outer trim/lip sections to be unlocked from the door surrounds, and the latches do not clear the sun visors (so they must be flipped down and/or to the side).

The rear logo pissed me off, but I hardly even notice it now.

ahh ok now thats some good info. i was torn between bestop and rampage. i hd the bestop trektop on my jk and a best top regular soft top on the jku and i definitely liked how good the quality was.

the selling feature to me for the rampage is the window storage in the roof.

The only benefit to rampage is they're cheap enough you can replace them more often. I don't love my bestop (in an LJ, so I get lesser quality material), but the rampage wasn't good by most measures. The rampage was super loud and flappy, but it did store the windows and rear flat and in the top - which definitely helped them from deteriorating faster.

ive not spent much time in one with a rampage, good to know about the noise. thank you

Does anyone know if the skins ship separate/are packaged separate than the top? Or is it all packaged together in one box?

I hope everything is in there, for the price I couldn't help but get a back up. It was on my porch standing up with the flaps open (and one missing entirely).

I have a backup I my cart, my NOS from eBay was 240. This is a great deal. Anyone have an opinion on the sailcloth being worth the extra $100

TJ Unlimited owners don't get the choice, but yes - it's one I wish I had and would pay more than $100 for the difference.
