02 modified TJ, I don’t know where its going rebuild

My Jeeps transformation took place same time frame as yours.

That's what I figured based on the parts & looks of it. The 2005-2006 build was it's first time under the knife & when I did the first V-8 swap. I'd done some mods to it before that but I'd done a TON during this first build. I was using my combat pay from Iraq to build it. Got 6 years of use in it before I had engine issues that casued me to park it.

Shoulder straps mount too low. Would like to fix a least the driver side when I am down. New seat etc….. Currently not safe.

Thanks, I will include that cost with new harness, swap passenger seat to driver for now, would like new seats in future.

Look for racers who are selling their old harnesses. They have to change them every 2 years. There was a local guy in Yakima last week selling them for $50 a set.

Plan is to remove axle and bring to my buddy at tranny shop get smoothed out, while I drop, skid, t-case and bar links for clean up/rust removal and treatment. Replace poly ball joints/uniball. T-case? Not sure if that is something I should dabble in. Probably bring him t-case too. The Icon creeper will make a good axle dolly, every time I try to wrench on that thing I end up on my back laying on the floor. Cleaned up benches a bit for some parts. 😎✌️

Nothing alarming as the first time I popped cover off. Pinion gear scar on ARB housing was the previous damage I revealed. May run to harbor now pick up socket. Amazon can come as late as 9 pm. Would like to get diff to shop tomorrow. I am hoping I only need to replace the poly bushing on long arm, save some money.

What is that donger welded to your spring perch?

Explanation is required why?

Your rear spring have to bend forward a little bit due to where the upper perches are located. By moving them directly above your rear axle you get better articulation & alignment..
The purpose of relocating the rear upper spring seats is to make the bump stops line up again after raising the pinion.

That’s what I thought, I too thought it odd how springs looked that way, especially 6” lift spring. I just don’t have the budget to get a welder yet, I can ask my tranny buddy, but I will wait to ask at least when he is done with diff and paid. I never done any heavy welding. I developed schedules for Hermetic Micro welding electronic subassemblies for military, aerospace, and ?. All Resistance welding, laser weld or furnace seal. Always wanted to learn MIG. What do you recommend for a job like this? MIG required? I will keep it in mind as I progress.

He wants it stripped of weight, pull axles and brake assemblies off tomorrow. As well as the driver long arm, to evaluate what need to be replaced and get parts on order. Then shocks, drop skid, drop exhaust, and remove the other side long arm, A-frame truss. My other buddy gave a tyranny jack today. Get-er-done! That is a factory Super Dana 35, I don’t believe any after market 30spl axle kits have abs speed wheels on them.
