ok so im having an impossible time to find one of these. no wreckers near me will sell me one. all that is online are the short ones for the half doors.

does anyone have this that they would sell me?

part number is

those are all wrong. those are for half doors. im a parts man at a car dealership...this is literally what i do. if it was as simple as a google search dont you think i would have already done that? you didnt even look at the photo i posted.

that prob sounded rude. it wasnt meant to. im extremely frusterated that i cannot find these. only ones for half doors and xj.

Sure I looked at the picture, but since the clips look so much alike I did not notice the difference in length.

I did not mean to offend you, but how would I know what you do for a living, or how versed you are in parts searches? Many people ask questions on the forum that are very simplistic, and I did not know this wasn't one of those.

So anyway, maybe call these folks and see if they have one? They typically have a large inventory of used parts at reasonable prices.

No worries. It’s the internet, and we aren’t face to face having a full conversation where all the details are readily known. I understand your frustration as I have been there myself. As said above, there’s gotta be a part out with that clip available.

I had the same issues when I bought a pair of full doors to replace the full doors that were stolen from my BIL's TJ.
He passed away in 9/23. Now that I bought it from my SIL, I got a used hardtop and doors from C/L.
So I bought a lock cylinder set (4 pieces) to replace the broken ignition switch and all 3 door locks.
They came with the short clips but, I could only find one longer clip in my junk box that I've had for years & years.
So I went to my local NAPA with the dimensions and matched up a clip that I could file off a bit to get it to work.
The shorter clips do work but are difficult to access to install and/or replace because of the brackets near the lock cylinder.

Ok, I gotta ask...what is the difference between half and full door clips?

Is it one is longer than the other? If so what does the longer one do that the shorter one doesn't?

The full door clip has to be longer due to the window track.

The clips from older Rangers (1996 - 2011) look very similar. (#F67Z-1022023-AA) It might be worth ordering a set at the dealership and taking your old one in to see if it is a close enough fit.

The difference is the size of it. half doors dont have a window track in the way of the lock cylinder so they are much shorter. the full door has a window track in the way of the lock cylinder so it requires a longer part. the photo i posted above is for a full door. this is for a half door or the tailgate and for xj.

if i cant find something that works ill just tac weld on a piece of metal to the small ones soi have the leverage i need.

Ok, next question...does the verticle tab perform a function other than a prying spot?

Can you cut the tab off?

I see/understand how the clip works and see there is little difference but I have no knowledge if it would/could work cutting the tab off.

That would make it even shorter. it needs to be longer like the one i posted at the top.
