I was asked about stainless I while back and did not have the capacity to determine if the rash guards could be counter sink with out eating bits and becoming a nightmare. I had a customer that was willing to pay and wait for me to try and it worked out. My TJ rock slider kits would increase by $100 (LJ would be similar) to upgrade the rash guard to stainless. Seems like a no brainer but I’m curious to what you gents may think.
The brake press tonage was almost double to bend it. Crazy.

I’m no expert on materials and where they’re better used and havnt seen any discussion on stainless so excuse me if this is been said before.
What are the benefits of stainless? Would this be resistant enough to not need paint at all or just better resistance than normal carbon steel? I get rock chips on the bottom side of the sliders that end up starting the rust and having to not worry about re painting them would be worth the cost alone.
Any strength difference? I’ve always assumed stainless was softer than normal carbon steel but I know most of that idea comes from bolts which is unfair since the non stainless is heat treated.
