Starting over: A lightweight Rock Crawling Daily Driver

Got some wrenching therapy in for the day, pulled off the rtt and rack that I foolishly added, installed my Barnes bumper and pulled the flares in prep for corner armor to go on.

I haven’t been able to really get much done to the Jeep until now because I’m currently living in a hotel due to a fire that took 140’ of our fencing and filled out house with smoke.

The house is fine other than damage we’re just waiting on insurance while we wait for insurance they moved us into a hotel until December 6th.

DAMN....😅

I have sympathy for you. I had a fire on the patio of my condo a few years back and the heat shattered the sliding door and smoke came into my place. Man is that black soot hard to clean off of s**t. Ruined a few things, but mostly just a lot of work to clean up after.

This is my brother’s project but figured I’d share it anyways, 3d printed switch panel holds 7 factory switch’s and some other goodies that are mounted to a separate plate that will be bonded to the opening on the bottom.

If anyone is wondering where we got a parking brake factory style switch the answer is we didn’t, we played around with the laser cutter and got a company to send us some switches with blank faces. This is what we intend to do with all the switches.

Cool project. Does that imply an electronically operated parking brake, or is that the “playing around” component?

Sorry, got pulled away at work, that is implicit of an electronic parking brake. My brothers Jeep is built for longer duration trips so a cooler was out of the picture. He has one fridge in the back of the lj for food and a second fridge for liquids and snacks in the place of the factory center console making the factory parking brake inoperable. The solution was to mount an actuator under the Jeep to engage the parking brake.

I was going to do the electric parking brake on my TJ but with everything setup under my Jeep the way it is I didn't have room for the actuator. I bought one of the EStopp kits.

Trust me it’s tempting especially when I’m a hardware sales associate at homedepot 😂😂

Can’t justify anymore purchases for a while with having to replace the 2562-21 impact kit, flux’s corners, and a swaylock.

I’ve got plenty of buddy’s with tools I just hate to be that guy that always has to borrow other people’s stuff.
