ZJ steering

4:10 gears

Truetrac in rear

33x12.5r15 bfg ko2s

15x8 Micky Thompson classics

When doing the body lift there are a few things to do at the same time.

- take the fuel filler loose from the body so nothing gets broken and readjust the hose clamps afterwards.

-you also want a cable shifter or drop bracket for the tcase linkage.

-unbolt the fan shroud so it doesn't bend fan blades or break the shroud when the body and motor are being moved around, you may need to redrill bolt holes when the mml and body lift are done to center it.

-the steering shaft going into the cab will need a spacer or new riser to center it in the firewall grommet again. If you have a welder you can just cut yours and weld the right spacer in.

When doing the mml you may need to trim the frame horns to keep the engine bracket from hitting it.that can happen regardless of the mml type.

Regarding bumpstops you may or may not need 2" depending on shock compressed length and other factors.
Most guys will recommend flexing it out without shocks and springs to find what bumps keep the tire out of the body when flexed, then getting shocks of whatever brand that have extended and compressed lengths that work for you to have equal up and down travel from ride height with the springs in. You probably can't get that without cutting and welding shock mounts but it is worth striving for.

It is really frustrating to not be able to buy the perfect kit.but with help you can get a decent working jeep!

To OP,
If your factory motor mounts are still good, it's completely up to you whether you want to replace them or not. When I did my MML last summer, I inspected my 20 year old factory mounts and they were fine, so I didn't replace them. I probably would have if I could have found Mopar mounts at a decent price, but I couldn't. Just something to consider if yours are still good.

This is when they're ready for replacement. 👍

Good call. 😁

Here's my thread when I did mine and asked for advice. Pics of mine are in the thread for comparison.

I know I'm a little late to the thread but I'll add my thoughts and recent build as well. Everything works really well together and rides & steers nice and tight.

2" JKS springs
3/4 spacer on left spring, 1.25" spacer on right spring
OME shocks
Moog control arms
RE rear extend brake hose
Raybestos front extended brake hoses
Zj steering
JKS front and rear track bars
RE front quick discos
JKS rear adj sway bars
JKS budget motor mount lift
1" body lift
255/85/16 tires running 25 psi
kept stock 4:10's with 6spd
savvy cable shifter

I did a bunch of other stuff as well but this is the meat and potatoes of what you are looking for.

Why the different sized spacers?

Given what I'd read about the issues with body lifts, and the fact that I don't like the way they look, MMLs and the 6-speed, I did all suspension and an SYE. 4" of lift, Trail Forged arms and steering with 33x12.5/15s. One-finger steering at 80 with zero vibes.

Much pricier, but it works for me.
