Good afternoon everyone! I'm a big fan of the website and all the members - there's amazing amount of knowledge here from obviously very skilled and experienced Jeep owners. I've been putting some of that knowledge to good use the last year but just I signed up and decided to participate in the conversations last night. I got my daughter a 98 TJ last year sometime before summer. She's 17 and she's been hounding me for a wrangler since she was old enough to know what one is, so I did a little researching and decided a TJ would be the best way to go seeing that parts are readily available, there's a TON of things you can do to them, I can do all the work myself, and overall it seems like TJ's are very popular with people that are really involved in the Jeep world. I've always drove Dodge trucks and Ramchargers, but after doing odds & ends on her TJ and riding around with her it grew on me, so I found a very clean 2000 Sport and got it for myself. After a pretty crazy series of events (this intro is already too long, so it'll be a story for another time) I decided to strip them both down to the frames and I am currently building hers from frame up using both of the Jeeps. I'm currently in the middle of rebuilding her 32rh with a huge, heartfelt thanks to the tutorial on Youtube from Big Juicy Garage who I noticed is a member here although sadly I don't remember what his username is. Anyway, sorry for such a long post and thank you all for having me and I'll be posting soon to pick y'alls brains about a few things - I want to scroll through some threads and try to make sure I'm not starting up something that's been asked plenty of other times. Thanks again!

SE Bama here, pretty close to Auburn... and I've already figured out that it's wayyyy too easy to go in debt with a TJ - I've already been down the rabbit hole a few times that starts with doing something simple like getting some new floor mats and ending up with speakers and new roll bar covers 😂

Here we will steer you towards a lift kit, control arms, bigger tires, body armor and anything else we can think of......... you know just to help you out

I thought it was Big Jussie :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Jig Bussy.

Big Juicy is the name of my 97 TJ....when you have multiples the kids like to name them. Why Big Juicy? Well, one night after a show we went to a Waffle House, which was tradition. The waitress was an ample woman, and her nametag said Big Juicy. I placed my order and told her, in my best handsome Rob voice, "I'm gonna need that nametag." She came back with the food and gave me her nametag. I didn't have to do anything unsavory for it (other than be at a Waffle House at 4am). I had said my next band was going to be named Big Juicy but I got the jeep before I formed my next band so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You posted a question on a video a couple days ago but youtube won't let me see it. Did you get it figured out?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Sorry for not responding sooner - worked late and then sat down at the bench and cleaned transmission giblets and whatnots. @hear I was asking about a part (don't remember which one now) that I wasn't sure if it was held in place by a snap ring or something I couldn't see but it was just really stuck in place... spraying some Kroil and letting it sit fro a minute was just what it needed. I was just about to comment on your rear drum video though because I couldn't get the right clearance at the last snap ring, the most I could squueze in there was like .010 but after taking it back apart I found that the wavy type snap ring at the bottom was in but not seated all the way and it was letting off a little too much wavy gravy but its all good now.

Yeah, after traveling around this website a while I came to the conclusion that it's a good thing I got that second divorce on out of the way because I can see where all my time, money, and attention will be going lol... well, after I finish my daughters Jeep anyway, which has already helped "simplify" my bank account

Btw, this is a dumb question, so please keep in mind that I'm from the lower half of Alabama, but what's the easiest way to transfer pics from my phone to my PC? I use an iphone 15 the majority of the time (especially for pictures) but I also have an android if one is better than the other. I want to post some pics up of my daughters jeep before and now in the current stage of the rebuild and get some opinions. Thanks y'all!

For longer posts, I like to type the majority of it here, and then go to my phone where it will have the draft all ready for me, and then I can easily paste in the pics. Or sometimes I'll email myself the pics and add them after the fact if they need edits or something.

Thanks for the tips, I'll be posting pictures this weekend. Where is the best place to post stuff like that?

I worked until about 9:30 EST the last 3 days, so haven’t had time to get back on it but the last thing I finish was the pistons/servos. I smashed that subscribe button also
