I drive mine as often as I can, not always in fair weather... Daily? not really, I have another Jeep that wants to share my attention. The ONLY time the TJ is fully buttoned up, is when the outside temps are below around 40° F. I have NEVER had dust in the HVAC system, other than a very fine layer... I get more on the dash in a week than what was in there after nearly 20 years of ownership.
That's great for you and your use, seriously. Personally, I don't understand why you would own both, particularly the newer one, but I'm not telling you to sell one or that having both is a foolish. I assume you have your reasons for owning both and you're free to do so.
If I wanted a vehicle to never have the top and doors come off, there are a lot of cheaper/more comfortable SUVs out on the market to go to the mall...
Well, not sure what to say other than I wanted a TJ Unlimited, so I bought one. It suits my needs quite well and I do drive it sans doors on occasion. And I don't go to malls, ever...hate the feckin' places. But somehow just because I'm not bouncing mine off trees and rocks or running around with the top down, doors off and music blaring on the weekends, I shouldn't have one or should consider getting some piece-of-shit SUV? I'll keep the Jeep, thanks.
On a historic note, the Jeep wasn't developed as a play toy, but it was developed a general purpose utility vehicle.
In summation, given the fact that dude on ebay seems to be moving his product and numerous members here have attempted some kind of cabin air filtration over the years, apparently there is a point and it matters to some people.
