That's pretty typical for any transmission in the middle of its lifetime.

I don't see any issues there. Is it shifting and driving ok? All transmissions will produce some metal and the magnets inside the transmission are there to help keep those metal fragments from traveling around in there.

Well both transmissions were junk, shipped them both off to hi-impact in Memphis on a pallet, the second core is paying shipping. Hopefully in 2 weeks I will have a rebuilt and upgraded one back. Then to deal with the atlas that has a bad bearing in it. I may just rob the one from the YJ and stuff it into the LJ to get it drivable. Once it’s good, I will be over to Tom Wood’s to get a front shaft. And off for inspection and registration! After 5 years of owning it, maybe by Christmas I will be legally able to drive it.

Maybe I misunderstood. Were the two transmissions you're talking about used or already rebuilt?

Mine were original, hi impact is going to rebuild one for me and send it back, with the improvements, local shop was more money with chicom replacement parts. So I am hoping for a winner!
