Attempted Theft, Need Help Repairing

Hey Everyone. Some dregs of society decided to attempt to steal my '01 Sport while I was visiting family. Luckily I had installed the SKIM module when I first bought my TJ s couple years ago (thanks @mrblaine).

Good new they weren't able to steal my baby cause of the SKIM. Bad news they messed up my steering column pretty bad and destroyed my key tumbler and SKIM module.

I'm planning on ordering a new column soon but I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions:

I've found some options on eBay with selling keys, skim module, and programmed ECU so no programming would be needed.

Is there any downside to buying a replacement ECU?

Anyone know a place to get a replacement SKIM module? It's been a few years since I got my old one and I'm not having much luck finding one online.

Sorry to see the damage that was done.
I would contact Mark at WranglerFix.(https://wranglerfix.com/)
He is the guru when it Jeep computers. For a replacement ECU he would be the only one I would trust and deal with. I'm sure he could advise you on the SKIM module.

Does anyone know how to accomplish what @mrblaine recommends "If the ignition lock cylinder is incorrect, correct it to work with the VIN?" My OEM stock ignition lock cylinder is in pieces now so I'll have to buy a replacement.

Buy the lock cylinder and have the dealer pin it to the VIN. If you have a key in good shape, you can get a pin kit and DIY.

No, repair isn't possible as it's in pieces. For a new module, I've been able to find some possibilities on eBay but haven't purchased anything yet.

They aren't repairable once the antenna is broken.

As of now, they are not able to be reprogrammed to a new VIN. That can only be done to a new one.
