Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Dad's taking her out for her birthday beer.

Went to one of the local dives.

I shortened the links by. 75" on each end.

It gave me a lot more room at ride height.

But then came the next issue. The nut for the upper heim was barely rubbing until it reached the raised lettering on the tire. But I could still rotate it. That is until I went to full flex. Drivers side all the way down and the passenger side stuffed.
Tire is now hitting the shock.

So my options are:
1) Run the 1.5" spacers. Makes my width 80" which isn't fully compatible with some trails here in the PNW.

2) Get some 0.5" or 0.75" spacers which I think would get the tire off the shock body.

3) Other options?

Yes if I had either 63" or 65" WMS axles I wouldn't be having these issues. But at the moment this isn't a option.

I'm inclined to go with the narrower spacers so my width isn't quite as wide. But I'm game for other suggestions.

How hard is it rubbing? Are the tires aired down to trail psi?

Not sure how long your studs are but make sure a .75 will still allow enough turns for the lugnuts. I had to push my wheels out to 3.5 bs in order to clear the rear link. The annoying part is I've seen two Blaine rigs done the same way with 3.75 and 4" BS. I spent hours bending the bracket and the heim has a paper worth of clearance to the frame.

They were at street pressures and were rubbing hard. As always part of my issue is the air springs which cause me to have to be more careful than if I had coil springs in it. At this point I'll stick with the spacers and see how I like it. The SpyderLocks are 3.5" BS and if I remember correctly the StazWorks rims are 4" BS. Once it's running a driving I can see how I like it or dislike it and go from there.

You think that's her first beer? 🤣

Happy birthday Karlee (I'm sure I misspelled it again, but I'm closer!)!

Nope I know it isn't as she's had some before that I gave her. But it was her first LEGAL drink. She got to show her ID and everything.

I was still in the Army in 2006 when my son turned 21 so I didn't get to buy him his first legal drink.

DAMN again..... Tri-Mix has gone up in price again . For the small bottle I have it was $88. And for anyone who's thinking about doing any stainless work buy your Tri-Mix now as the folks @ OxArc said it's going to be going up in the next few months by 30-40%. Freaking crazy. Hopefully this will be the last of the stainless I have to do for a while.

O2 Bungs are done. Not pretty welds but I don't think they will leak.

I used a 5/8" bolt to keep the bung centered on the hole I drilled.

This will be where the wide band sensor goes.

And then the pre cat sensor for the PCM.

I put it on the cat so we'll see how it works. Not sure if there's a certain distance it's supposed to be away from it.

And this cat came with the post cat bung already installed.

I'll pull the headers back off and either tomorrow or Monday I'll take everything over to be ceramic coated.

Thinking 🤔 I might go with Glacier Black ⚫️ for the headers. And maybe Titanium for the Y pipe?

I'll talk to the guys about it when I drop everything off and see what they think.

The Black against the Hemi Orange might look good. And go good with the Black valve covers too.

Prehaps from the brochure :censored:

It states 140. Atlas is 110 so not too much lighter.

That was what I meant. Brochure says 140 but somewhere or sometime I thought I'd been told it was 150lbs instead of 140 lbs.

Yep not much more than an Atlas. It's part of why my TJ is such a pig...

Not with that V8 it’s not!

You haven't been around here long enough to have been witness to the whole Steel vs Aluminum debate and how some feel saving 200lbs or 300 lbs is VERY important...

I have steel armor so I'm WRONG and am OLD school. Last time I weighed my TJ before this whole rebuild it was just over 5K lbs with me in it.

Add this to your jeep and all will be forgiven. https://savvyoffroad.com/product/sav-vlnc/
