Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I'm getting shitty gas mileage but in my experience I've have ~4 gallons left when the light is tripped. I was on low E and it only took 15 gallons.
Mine has come on and I put 15 gal in.... I've also had it come on and I put 17 in! It's not reliable on my TJ. I had a YJ I bought new and it's light was pretty accurate until they had a recall on the fuel pump and replaced mine.... the first time the light came on I was sure I had 3 gal or so....no sooner that I finished thinking that I ran out of gas.

Does that stay on long? I have to get my 1/2 door inners painted tan to black when I get around to painting the doors!
Does if you do it right . Did you use adhesion promoter for plastic, I guess I will see. Letting all the pieces dry for a week or two . Cleaned the parts real good , wiped down and sprayed with promoter , there are lots of little tricks to dying plastic parts.

I've used the Color Coat by SEM with the cleaner and adhesion promoter to color "slate" panel Khaki for my TJ. Not only does it work the adhesion coat (wet on wet process) has the color coat penetrate the plastic. If you're trying to go to an original color you can call these guys and give them your VIN and they will mix the colors for you.

I've even scratched the door panels lightly and it's still Khaki. I applied one wet on wet coat and 2 light topping coats. Set them in the sun for a day (UV) to "cure" and they looked factory new. I was really amazed.

You went with non stock colors but if you used the same or similar process you should be fine.

I was thinking of flipping the door handles , the guy I bought the jeep from put full doors on and they are red doors someone did a poor green paint job on so I guess this is the third jeep they were on. I thought the DA that painted the doors green had put the handles on the wrong doors but never taken off obviously. Then I found out that's the way they came. I was like what the hell and they were awkward to open but now that I have gotten use to them I will be leaving like that ...... hell I got enough to do on it. I am taking the doors completely apart and stripping all the paint but you have to mod the rods to reverse them and I don't want to fool with it. Besides my brain has just gotten use to them and I don't need to confuse my brain anymore.

I relocated my winch solenoid box and installed a wireless remote kit. I also put in a Rubicon Express extreme duty front track bar and bracket.

Anyone know the thread size for O2 sensors? Instead of unscrewing the old sensor my Milwaukee impact decided to break the welded in plug/ bung section of the catalytic converter completely out lol I also found out that my converter is a fraud. Got the center skid sections primed up and the front driveshaft back in. Time to get the plate back on so I can get the rear trailing arm section cut out and replaced.

My two precats look more round.

Curious, Is that your third cat? If so what is there an 02 there?

(Maybe things are different for your year?)

Doing God’s work with that restoration project.

I have a 2.5l ‘97 model so it’s the only cat. Manifold to down flow to cat to muffler to tail pipe. I’m assuming it was a stock setup but can’t be sure.

Installed an EBay dash switch and ARB compressor after removing the stock locker pumps. It kinda felt like sacrilege removing the locker switch and much of the locker-harness wiring, but it was time to rip the band-aide off.

Grabbing a tee fitting today and waiting on a 3 ft. hose to come from Amazon (for quick access at the bumper).

On to the rear end of the Jeep now. It seems like it will be easier especially when I’m welding it back up. I’ll be so glad when it’s over 🤑🔫
Since u are handy with a welder, you can always weld a bung back in and then run a spark plug defouler to see if it makes your post cat 02 read different than your pre-cat due to it being recessed.

I did this on a 2005 (maybe it was a 2006) car that I had and it solved the CEL (I believe it was a p0420 due to a failed cat). Just throwing it out there.

I got them as spares my aftermarket flow master cats on the TJ in case they stop splitting atoms. Can come in handy for anyone with a cat that’s lost it’s PGMs (platinum group metals).

Here is what I purchased as a reference (providing a photo since the link is no longer valid).

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I just wasn’t sure what thread pitch I was needing for the tap or weld In plug hole. Thanks for the info
