Mine has come on and I put 15 gal in.... I've also had it come on and I put 17 in! It's not reliable on my TJ. I had a YJ I bought new and it's light was pretty accurate until they had a recall on the fuel pump and replaced mine.... the first time the light came on I was sure I had 3 gal or so....no sooner that I finished thinking that I ran out of gas.I'm getting shitty gas mileage but in my experience I've have ~4 gallons left when the light is tripped. I was on low E and it only took 15 gallons.
Does if you do it right . Did you use adhesion promoter for plastic, I guess I will see. Letting all the pieces dry for a week or two . Cleaned the parts real good , wiped down and sprayed with promoter , there are lots of little tricks to dying plastic parts.Does that stay on long? I have to get my 1/2 door inners painted tan to black when I get around to painting the doors!

My two precats look more round.Anyone know the thread size for O2 sensors? Instead of unscrewing the old sensor my Milwaukee impact decided to break the welded in plug/ bung section of the catalytic converter completely out lol I also found out that my converter is a fraud. Got the center skid sections primed up and the front driveshaft back in. Time to get the plate back on so I can get the rear trailing arm section cut out and replaced.

I have a 2.5l ‘97 model so it’s the only cat. Manifold to down flow to cat to muffler to tail pipe. I’m assuming it was a stock setup but can’t be sure.My two precats look more round.
Curious, Is that your third cat? If so what is there an 02 there?
(Maybe things are different for your year?)
Since u are handy with a welder, you can always weld a bung back in and then run a spark plug defouler to see if it makes your post cat 02 read different than your pre-cat due to it being recessed. On to the rear end of the Jeep now. It seems like it will be easier especially when I’m welding it back up. I’ll be so glad when it’s over![]()
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I just wasn’t sure what thread pitch I was needing for the tap or weld In plug hole. Thanks for the infoSince u are handy with a welder, you can always weld a bung back in and then run a spark plug defouler to see if it makes your post cat 02 read different than your pre-cat due to it being recessed.
I did this on a 2005 (maybe it was a 2006) car that I had and it solved the CEL (I believe it was a p0420 due to a failed cat). Just throwing it out there.
I got them as spares my aftermarket flow master cats on the TJ in case they stop splitting atoms. Can come in handy for anyone with a cat that’s lost it’s PGMs (platinum group metals).
Here is what I purchased as a reference (providing a photo since the link is no longer valid).
