Work from home LJ

Got my renewal in the mail today. Vehicle value: $833. Tax bill due: $29.

This is the first time a tax valuation has been in my favor 😂😂😂

That's interesting. What did NC have you at? I just renewed mine valued at $2,630 and cost $65.71

I hadnt renewed my LJ in NC since prob 22 iirc. It wasnt drivable for awhile during the axle builds and was on jack stands for months when I was recovering from torn acl/surgery for that. $150 bucks or so sounds about right.

Yep. Same here. Mine drips and will leak on the ground / on the skid plate. But has never been low. I’ll feel better in after a few more hundred miles

Did you find your leak?

Mine dripped just a little after my SYE install. It turned out to be the speedometer sensor. Even with it's O-ring. I put a small bead of sealant on the SYE housing and reinstalled the sensor. It's been dry since.

I did. Took awhile but ended up replacing tailhousing seal (if thats correct term) with one directly from advance adapters. Never leaked again. No idea if the random parts store one I was using was bad or just slightly small.

Guy down street pays 2500/yr for his ‘23 6.7 HO. SC doesn’t have vehicle sales tax (capped at 500) so they try to say it evens out.

It doesn’t 😂

Had I got an F250 it would have been based on value.

One tons are fixed fee, cause farmers.

NC does a standard % fee which covers vehicles up to 6,000lbs, then a weighted tag fee is added per 1,000lbs above for the tag. My truck alone is on the books at or above the 6K limit, so I run weighted tags to cover my ass.

Haven’t done much on the jeep recently besides drive it. Wife takes it to the pool on the weekends and I drive a few days a week when it’s nice out.

4 years of ownership was few weeks ago. Have put less than 4k miles on it during that time. Hope to 2-3x that in another 4 years!

Havent posted in awhile. Jeep has been fine. Most its ever been driven. Probably 500 miles in last few months! But its due for a little love.

* Driver rear axle seal is leaking a little - no big deal, have parts on hand for this. Few hour job
* Transfer case still leaks a bit - its only a small leak and i havent been motivated enough to rip it open and fix....maybe once its wheeling season again

But the most interesting of all - my cluster and HVAC lights went out. Tail lights are good. No blown fuses that I can find. Going to start chasing grounds next unless anyone else has a better idea.

I have odometer still, just no lights in dash with headlights. Either bad ground or a headlight switch?

I have that issue too, so will follow along. Mine happened with the auto swap so thinking likely in the column (multifunction switch?)

The switch was going to be my first attempt at fixing. Mine went after jeep was sitting for weeks so I have a hard time believing it’s a ground

I have a humming sound from my rear sound bar when I turn the cab lights on.

No chance that’s unrelated. It might be a loose ground then
