I have a 1999 TJ sport 4.0. I noticed that after it sits for a few days the battery drains. I thought at first I had the key in the wrong position, but then I noticed that my wipers, blinkers and cigarette lighter all have power no matter what position the key is in. I had access to a brand new wiper switch so I took the column apart replaced the switch and they still had power. At this point I started pulling relays, wipers still worked after each one was pulled. Then I started unplugging things to eliminate those, I unplugged the blinker switch, the ignition switch, horn, everything on the column was unplugged, still the wipers had power. I have tried every ignition switch position as well, I’m pulling my hair out.

anyone ever seen this?

get yourself a cheapo digital multimeter. set it to read amps. remove pos cable from battery. touch black lead to battery post, red lead to detached battery cable..... read current draw. should be less than .5A iirc? If higher start pulling fuses til reading goes down, that will be the offending circuit...

Ok thanks. I did this and found it to be the radio circuit. I checked the rats nest the other owner left me with and lo and behold there were a group of three wires from the harness all wrapped into one and as soon as I separated them bam draw gone.
Thanks Pepper.
