Where to mount air compressor?

You're welcome. But yeah, I'm a bit reluctant to post that pic, as there are quite a few Anti-Hemites on this forum...

;)

I may get a new shirt

Yeah. Used to make fun of a buddy of mine that drove a hemi. I was always a Chevy fan. 350cid was the best. Then……I bought my own Ram with the hemi. Just wow.

@ NashvilleTJ,

What Viair compressor did you go with and was wondering how long it takes to fill from 12psi to 30-32psi? Not sure your tire size but I am planning on running 35's when the K03's come out next spring. And regarding the addition of the tank, how much did that help in reducing the original fill times? Struggling to come up with a little more economical solution then going with the ARB twin cylinder.

Thx, Scott

I run the Viair 400P (or C, can't' recall), which is the 100% duty cycle model. But I have no idea how long it takes to fill the tires as I usually air up with a CO2 tank. I'm also running 40's, so it does take a while, and would take a good bit longer than the same for 35's.

The tank makes no significant positive difference in filling tires, in fact it could slow it down just a bit. As soon as the pump kicks in, not only are you getting the tire up to pressure, but you also have to get the tank back up to pressure at the same time. I run the small tank just to reduce the cycling of the pump when I run the lockers.

Thanks Nashville for getting back to me. I've looked at that compressor but wanted to mount it on the tray under the brake booster but don't think it will fit and didn't think about where you mounted it so still might go that route just minus the tank now.

I have the Viair 400p and 35’s. It takes exactly 2min 30 sec to fill a tire from 7.5psi to 24psi.

I have an ‘05 TJ, and looking at getting an air compressor. I’d like to not have it underneath my hood, plus there’s not much room in there with everything else I’ve done. Wondering where you guys put yours. The dimensions of the one I’m looking at is
15” long
6” wide
8” tall

At one point I wanted to run power from the battery directly to the trunk area and hardwire a compressor there with an inline switch. Use nutserts to anchor it to the floor. I still like the idea, but I opted for portability.

You need a tank, Hank…
You need a can, Dan…
You need a bottle, Sprottle…
You need CO2, C3PO….

🙂

For comparison sake 1.5 minutes with an ARB dual from 8 to 25 psi. 35 x 12.5's with 15" wheels.

Viair 400P $180
Dual ARB $600

For comparison sake. 😂

Next are we going to compare winkies?

I fit a viair 350C 480C on the ABS tray. Not sure how much bigger the 400C is. I believe the 350C is a 100% duty cycle model too.
