Wanted to get some thoughts on my dilemma. Recently bought a Jeep a few months back and today tire was flat. Found the nail that’s causing this but 4 different tire shops won’t touch the wheel since I don’t have the wheel lock.

Tried reaching out to previous owner but he mentioned it was in the Jeep.

Anyone have any ideas on how to take it off?

BleepinJeep has a YouTube video trying several methods.

If you have the sticker that came with the set you can get a replacement. Might check the glovebox and manual real good just incase.

I had that issue and Discount Tire had a tool to take it off. Had to show proof the vehicle was mine.

Ya I went to discount tire since the previous owner had warranty on the tires and they actually said their took that takes off the locks doesn’t fit around the lug.

Recommended me to take it to a mechanic to get it taken off but no luck with anyone wanting to do it.

If it doesn't have the spinning anti-theft collar on it, pound a 12-point socket over top of the nut and remove. That's how the rim thieves usually do it

Thanks for the advise will check out the YouTube channel.

Unfortunately don’t have anything on the wheels since it was bought from previous owner.

I found an Instagram page for the manufacture tried reaching out to them there but no luck so far.

Dumb question but does your jeep have the insta-trunk behind the back seat? There are two small lug socket storage receptacles, one on either side for the wheel lug lock nut and the spare tire lug lock nut.

It looks like you might not have room to pound a socket on there with it being recessed into the wheel like that. If you can, that would be great. That's how I got a lock off of a stud on a trailer I bought, but the lug nuts were external.

I am thinking the same thing, not enough room for a removal tool or beating a socket over it. Go to a muffler shop, have them weld any old open ended lug not to the lock (weld through the center of the open ended lug nut). Then just twist it off using the lug nut they welded on. Might work, if not either continue to look for a working key, or drill it out and replace the studs you damage.

That's crazy that a local shop won't do it. Pretty standard practice at every shop I worked at; just verify ownership & use one of the dozen master kits that are probably lying around. Barring that we'd hammer on a thin-wall 12 point, if it was too recessed to do that without damaging the rim we'd just weld on some old socket backwards & get it off that way.

Why ruin the wheel for the cost of a stud, drill a pilot hole then drill it out with a larger bit. I’ve done this when I didn’t want to damage my wheel,

what about 1 of the gator sockets with the pins in it, supposed to fit into all kinds of odd shapes.
