What did you do to your TJ today?

My 04 ram 2500 5.9/6 speed got about 7.5 mpg over about 3200 miles, from Seattle to Knoxville TN. GCW 17500

That isn't bad for the ole 5.9 honestly. I'd love to see what my '25 L5P would get deleted & tuned pulling my crawler hauler. It is GCWR of right at 26k. I'm getting 8-8.8 depending on terrain currently. I just can't justify D&T'ing it right now because of the warranty and issues the 10-speed is having. I'd hate to spend $5k to T&D and then have to drop another $5k for a new valve body because the stupid issues .

The 6.4 PS in my motorhome gets about 9 MPG towing my TJ and I'm around 25K combined weight. With just the motorhome weighing around 19K I get 10.5-11 MPG. It's fully deleted & was rebuilt 5K miles ago so I'm not sure if it'll improve as it gets more broke in or not.

Yep. I definitely wouldn't delete if it's still under warranty

Another day of brake work. After doing these drums I was wishing I could do the drums on my Tacoma 5 times over again. In the end it wasn't that bad but glad I won't have to mess with them ever again hopefully. Painted the drums because why not. Put them on a little tight but I guess that's a self correcting problem.

Gonna bleed it tomorrow after I get another caliper to fix the leaking front one (RTV'd it to stop the leak) then test it all out. Still have some Hella headlights to install and I think I'll be done for a while.

On another note my engine fan seems to be running like the fan clutch is fully engaged now - failing fan clutch maybe?

no particular torque or setting? just until it won't tighten any more?

PDF versions of parts lists, FSM, etc available for all years of TJ in the resource section. You'll find proper torque settings therein. (y)

So this the the TJ I recently bought.

Let's see....over the past week and a half I have done maintanence (plugs, coils, oil and filter), Big 7 battery cables, replaced the steering wheel, fixing the top with all the broken knuckles, removing crappy wiring, replaced blown front speakers, new front cats (AFE return...half price), Savvy transfer case cable, B&M shifter, Quadratec headlights, and more cleaning.

AND.........heater core just started leaking. Ordered Brassworks heater core. Still haven't installed the stereo and most of the dash is still apart from replacing the steering wheel....so I guess I have a head start. Sucks. I will prob have most of the dash pulled and take it to the shop and let them deal with installing becasue I can't pull down the A/C and I might as well have them flush the cooling system. Horray.....unexpeced fun!!!!

That's more work than I've done on all 20 Jeeps I've owned throughout the years, combined. 🥳

You might as well replace both calipers.
