What did you do to your TJ today?

Replaced my MAP sensor and boy was it a pain in the ass. Two simple bolts and a little rubber tube.

Top pic shows where the sensor is located. Getting hands and or tools in there sucks majorly. Bottom pic shows where the tube connects. You have to feel it because there’s no way you can twist it to see it.

Either way, fingers crossed, test drive went well, no sputters and code cleared out.

Spent the morning with Raylan my youngest grandson.

Too BB to Scottsboro, AL and ate at Paynes Deli. It was opened as a drug store/soda shop in 1869 and moved to this location in 1896 where it has been ever since. Now its just a Deli soda shop.

Here's Raylan waiting on his food

Here is Raylan's turkey and cheese sandwich and my Ruben.

He ate half his sandwich and wanted a Banna Split.

Replaced the upstream O2 sensor, getting ready to do the downstream, and switch out one of the side market light bulbs.

I just did all 4 o2 sensors on my 2002 TJ. Had to drop the exhaust down from the manifold to get the down stream sensors broken loose. The upstream came out no problems but after using penetrating fluid and heat on the downstream they were still stuck and starting to round off the flats. Once the exhaust was lowered I could put an impact driver on it and that did the trick. Go ahead and order a set of manifold bolts cause I broke two getting those out. Good luck!!

I also use the FSM acronym of CMP for the CaM Position sensor, since CPS could be either.

Makes sense good to know!

WVE is a division of NTK so I would think their sensors would be of good quality too.

If they are a known reliable item, then I’ll happily add them to my list. I’d need more info than a general corporate relationship to establish credibility.

Got the Barnes no body lift skidplate installed today. Tried to add a little bling to it but not sure how well I'm gonna like it.

I did gain right at 2 inches of clearance, and by removing the old drop spacers this gives me almost 3 inches more inches of clearance.

A day of duds. Replaced spark plugs chasing what feels like an occasional rough engine - ones I pulled were in great shape.

Replaced both calipers chasing a hard turn to the left when braking hard. Did lines too. Process was fine but the right side caliper is leaking from the bleeder screw and no hope to replace until the auto store is open Monday. Smeared RTV all over it to try and tame the leak for the next couple days.

Any ideas what might cause that hard turn when braking? My next step was to rebuild the drums.

Oh man, replacing six plugs must be sooooo nice. When I replace my plugs, I replace six plugs - and then I have to replace ten more!

Jeez, Hemi's suck!

🙂

Nice work.
