Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Please share any tips/lessons learned! I may know someone who has a set to go on... ;)

If blind dumb luck is a tip I can offer that lol. Honestly I spent so much time getting the rockers right that the corners just kinda....fit. I guess the lesson is go slow, take the time to line stuff up right even if it means removing and installing a dozen times

lol - glad the alignment worked out for you! Pray my sliders do the same as they'll go on first....

I've heard that same advice that it's like painting - prep/placement is 90% of the job.

I've been looking at this for the nutserts:

Going to work last night I had a brake cylinder blow out on me. Thankfully I live in a rural area (relatively) and was able to find a spot to pull off. Called out of work so I could get the old girl patched up. I broke the hard line off trying to get it off the old cylinder, but thankfully I had the back half of the stainless steel set I bought a couple years ago and have been too lazy to put them on lol The wife helped me work the pedal while I operated the bleeder valves. I guess it’s time for a test drive now

I'd recommend swapping out the other side's wheel cylinder, too (assuming you didn't already do it). If one blew, the other's likely not too far behind.

Edited to alleviate confusion.

My wife was just asking me last night, whatever happened to that @kincaid.0678 that had the work accident? I can now tell her you're still breaking $h!t and fixing it. (y) (y) 🇺🇸

Bought the TJ a new hauler. The plan is to build a crawler hauler with a 21' camper on the front. I'm tired of paying for a cabin or hotel when we go. Going once a month is starting to add up.

Are you going to customize living space on a box you install on the trailer or buy a complete unit and load it up?

My plan is to buy a bumper pull camper, remove the suspension and tongue, then bolt the frame to the trailer with rubber bushings between. Depending on the camper frame width (if it will fit between the trailer frame), I may remove the decking under the camper and sit it directly on the trailer frame.

With the 21' camper, I will have 19' of deck space behind it. That's more than enough of/when I build a JK.

The reason for the low deck gooseneck vs a deck over is for if we want to go camping and take the wife's car. The lower angle on the ramps will allow her car to get on the trailer. And the low deck weights 2k pounds less than a comparable deck over.

Life goes on Boog. Shit I’m working two jobs now, back to FedEx on night shift doing industrial maintenance and I’ve been doing a side job about 20 hours a week on top of that lol after the near death experience I’ve became motivated to live and I need money for that lol good to see you’re still around man.

If you're doing both simultaneously, do the corners first. Easier to get the rockers to match up than vice versa. Have a second pair of hands to help, I also used like 8-10 clamps to pull everything up tight. Mine still have to come off again for paint, gonna put a small bead of silicone along the top and leading edge too.

Packing up the LJ for a vacation to Lake Tahoe area. Wife is taking her JKU. We may head down to Carson City area one day and go jeeping. Been looking at misc. trails on OnX. Should be a great drive today with the half doors, windows out, and the sunrider roof folded back. Just not sure what time we will get out of here.

Welcome and thank you for your patience with me getting the packaging together. Here they are on Ruby.

Appreciate the effort, sir!

I'm currently taking recommendations on good nutsert/rivnut tools, gentlemen... :geek:

I've also scheduled some therapy for next week so I can deal with drilling holes in Tess's virgin tub... 🥺:D

If you find a good nutsert tool, let me know. I've kept from installing them in my tub for the corner armor because the one I have sucks.

You had better luck on that removal that I've had on seats - I still have a broken extractor in a broken bolt for one of my rear seat brackets from years back... Going to try to weld on a nut from underneath when that hits to the top of the 'to do' list.

Please share your thoughts on the Bed Rug. My interior is stripped for me to detail and I want to go with a carpet (I've sold my OEM carpet years back) and looking for
