I love your Jeep more than my wife.I'm sure I have more invested in her though. Sad.
Even trade and you take over payments?
p.s. Has @John Cooper taken you through his favorite mud "puddle"?
Waiting on you![]()

1. Used the brake light tube and hole

2. Brought it up behind my tool thingy and drilled a hole on the blue cross behind the plastic cover of the hinges. Put the wire trough and filled it with silicone.

3. Wire behind the hinge cover and another small hole on the blue cross in to the back.
Just make sure you have enough length so the wire won’t get damaged while opening the rear.

4. Enters in the back. Filled the hole with silicone and put the fabric back so you don’t see anything.

5. Total route of the wire.
Been busy on daughters 97. She keeps complaining that her a/c doesn’t work, but what she actually means is sometimes it just “cuts out.” Turns out what she *actually* means is that sometimes it stops coming out of the upper vents and instead moves to the defogger. After a quick test drive, it seems like it happens under load and/or at the top of 2nd gear. I’m thinking vacuum leak.

She will never be impressed enough that I diagnosed that without so much as lifting the hood or using a vacuum gauge or smoke test.
(The vacuum gauge pictured was to test the check valves after replaced the hose).
Ah. Hinge covers! That would be what my TJ is currently lacking. I can easily mount the cam below the tire, but the view you hget is crap. Need to get the cam in the spare and the wire through the tailgate. Thanks for the pictorial tutorial!
Well....got my Trektop NX installed and it went way smoother than I expected. Helped that it was 80 and sunny out. Then it rained and I realized that Bestop, at some point, decided the bar that used to go across the front seats to help tension these tops was no longer needed. That allows water to pool over the front seats which is a pain and would likely overstretch the fabric over time. A few emails back and forth with them and I now have the part number to add it. Just an FYI for anyone that may be wanting this particular top. IMO, you're gonna want that extra piece. Bestop part # 5682035. Still very happy with this top. Love the way they make the jeep look and much quieter than factory style.

After a month or two of 110+ temperatures you'll wonder how you survived without it.Update on the new Jeep Air kit installed over the weekend. All charged up and blows nice and cold. Seems almost odd to have the windows zipped up while driving now.
Now just waiting for the hard top to come in.

I’m still not 100% happy with the view, but that’s because my camera looks down..

It’s allready better then before. But I have to make some spacers or get a different camera.
I'm diagnosing the need for new tires here from Va.![]()
