What caused my tailgate to crack?

Snug but not overly tight. They're just supposed to keep the spare from moving around.

Thanks Chris. I’m 3D printing some spacers. So once the tire touches, should the snubbers extended into the tire say…. 1/4 inch so it’s snug? Or maybe less than 1/4 inch? I wish I had a stock one to compare against.

1/4” is likely fine. I just kept adding washers and longer bolts to mine to space it out enough that the tire was snug against them and had no movement when you tried to grab it and shake it.

Yeah I got 5 of them and thought id shave them down to look like the original but figured it might be easier to just 3d print them and they would look OEM and can still use the stock snubbers to stack on top.
