Up Shift Light?

Goofy question, but do folks find the up shift light annoying? On my prior '97, it either didn't have the feature, or the light itself didn't work.
Later, after the mechanical rehabs are done, I'm taking apart the gauge cluster and removing that bulb.

Don’t care for it, but I rarely even notice it anymore. Might have my steering wheel adjusted so you can’t really see it. I shift when it feels right.

I find it's suggestions mildly amusing. But it doesn't bother me enough to take any overt action. Also, I don't always notice it as the steering wheel position seems to block most of it for me.
Same here. The steering wheel blocks it most of the time.

What is stupid is it comes on when I'm in 5th gear.

no. trivial things like that dont bother me. i dont even see it. my steering wheel is in the way
