Up Next: Radio Project

What's weird, is the HU I used does not have a chassis ground stud... Pioneer DMH-A4450BT is the HU I'm using. I'll just ground to a vehicle ground somewhere in the dash.
Pioneer radios require the "park brake bypass" to bypass the parking brake. You have to do a sequence with the parking brake on the Pioneer radios (On/Off/On). Only JVC, Kenwood, and I believe Sony will work by just grounding the parking brake wire.

I just installed the double DIN in my 2000 TJ with a JVC radio. Luckily the factory radio ground strap was still laying behind the PO's single DIN install. I used it to ground the radio and the parking brake wire. I still have to figure out the phone mirroring to the JVC though.

The only complaints I have on the Metra Double DIN kit is that it leaves a roughly 1/8" gap on the bottom of my radio. I can't for the life of me adjust the radio on the brackets enough to get it to sit perfect. Also, the kit requires you to cut too much off the passenger side of the dash. My passenger side lower bracket screw isn't installed (yet) because there isn't any dash for it to catch.

Done, on to the next project.

For a phone holder I got something Bullet Point Solutions and it’s been great so far for everything I’ve needed. I have a MagSafe case and got their MagSafe holder and the magnet is very strong.
