Trouble locating hardtop wiring harness

I have a 2002 wrangler TJ X. I bought the jeep two years ago with a soft top. Recently I decided to put a hard top on it and ironically the same guy that sold with the jeep had a hard top for sale. Supposedly he had the same hard top installed on his Jeep. I have the hard top installed but I cannot find the connection from the hardtop to the Jeep.(See attached) I talked with the guy that I bought this from he said it was all attached prior to him taking a hard top off to put a soft top on. Said there should be a connection midway on driver side in the tub the way have looked all over the only harness I can find going back is a smaller harness with a break, tail lights and turn signal.

I'm not quite sure where to go from here any help would be appreciated thanks

They usually run along and just under the driver side tub rail, ending in the corner behind the roll bar.

I have a 99 with the factory installed harness and it's plugged in to the main harness near where it comes thru the firewall up under the dash .

Yes it's a strange world for sure. When my buddy and I went to take a look at the hardtop and we turned down the guy street my buddy and I looked at each other and said we've been here before. Sure enough it was the same house.

I have a small wire bundle coming back going through that hard tube under the tub lip it drops down and connect up the tail lights brake lights etc. I took the fuel nozzle tube loose to get a good look down there and all I was a connection for the tail lights.

What's got me confused is if the wiring harness was never there what did he connect up to. When I reached out to him and ask him where he connected up to he just simply said the same thing you guys did the driver side of the tub toward the back.

Mine is tied down under the lip the hard top rests on, on the inside. Not by the fuel filler tube

It appears that you have the correct HT harness with the washer tube in the pic so the original owner proably pulled it out with the HT since the harness are highly sought after and can command serious dollars. You should be able to lay it back in and reconnect without issue.
