Transmission position light

So I'm changing over to LEDs. What bulb is in the tranny indicator socket? I also noticed that it seems to be tinted greenish, not the bulb itself but the plastic that the bulb illuminates. Would a red LED actually show as red in that instance?

Red and green make yellow, so no. You'd need to remove that little green bulb cover or whatever it is.

That bulb is a 658 bulb according to the manual. One of the hardest bulb types to find apparently!

Just a quick update.

Changed out this bulb with a red LED.
194-rhps from Superbrightleds. Tight fit but it works perfect, came through nice and red.
The color is even, not sure why the camera made it look off.
