Airbag light on 2001 sport

I’m new here, thank you in advance for any advice. I can’t get my airbag light to go off. I have searched the forum and found a lot of good information, but nothing seems to work. I replaced the bulb on the passenger deactivation switch with some degree of success. It became intermittent until the other day now it is just on. I have a code reader that shows the faults. It was just the 0052 PAB Disable Warning Lamp Open/ Short to Ground and now it has a 0056 Airbag Disable Switch Open. I have 2 passenger air bag switches with the same codes. Any help would be appreciated. I am willing to bypass the switch, I don’t have little ones to worry about in the front seat.

Thanks for the quick reply and the vote of luck. Which wires would I connect to bypass the switch. All of the wires in the plug are green and the only wiring diagram’s I can find show yellow wires. I don’t have any corrosion or frayed wires that I can identify. I even tried a used module with the same results.

Oh and for some reason my code reader throws an error when I try to clear the codes. It was a cheap code reader from Amazon.

Did you check the factory wiring diagrams in the FSM?

I don't know off the top of my head which wires you would connect to bypass it, especially if they are all green. That seems odd, they should be different colors.

I’m sorry I didn’t mean just green. There are stripes on them. This is a picture from another thread but it looks exactly like this. I did try to find my wiring diagram, but the only one I could find shows yellow wires with stripes. I might have looked at the wrong thing.

I just found the wiring diagram. It looks like the light green orange and light green dark green would bypass the switch.

@MarkF75 I just started having the same problem today, and my dashboards warning lights are flickering a bit. Curious if you solved the problem or just bypassed.
