Airbag Light Stays On

I have a 1998 model with the 4.0, and the AIRBAG light came today while I was driving. I turned it off a couple of times since, and it is still on.

I haven't done *anything* to my Jeep in at least 6 months.

Everything else seems to be working fine, including the horn.

I checked the two fuses behind the glove box, and they both look good (not broken).

I do not have a passenger side airbag defeat switch in my center console.


Does anyone have any ideas?

You need a scan tool with SRS features so you can pull the SRS specific codes it's throwing. That should point to your issue.

Do you have anything sitting on the front passengers seat? Also, try plugging the right side seatbelt in.

do these jeeps have airbag recalls like almost every other vehicle in existence? takata really fucked up lol

If you would answer your phone you could have already been covered by car shield and not have to worry about such trivial garbage.
