Transfer Case - Cracked Housing or Casting Marks?

I had my transfer case out and as I was preparing to put it back in in noticed what appear to be cracks on the front half of the housing. I have had a string of setbacks with my Jeep lately and am hoping that someone I’ll tell me with confidence they are just casting marks of some kind and turn my weekend around. It’s not likely but a man can hope.

When I get home I'll get pictures of mine. I'm sure its the same way.

If they were cracks, you'd have a lot of oil all over everything.

Ok, so the only tcase I could access doesnt have those marks, but I'm still quite certain its nothing to worry about.

Every single one of them has looked like that from the assembly line.
