TJT - Installed 2024 JT control arms in my 04 TJ

I would like to know if i could make the gladiator arms the correct length that my single adjustable ones are? Individually make a fixed arm for each corner. That is where I think it would be best. Once you have the formula it should be easy

For me.. it was the challenge of doing it. It turned out to be a lot of upgrade for cheap... and the list mentioned above in the OP.

and... If I would have just replaced the control arms the whole project would have been pretty quick and easy. Hopefully a little cooler this weekend I'll try to get some videos.

The fundamental flaw in the entire endeavour is the suspension geometry and where the instant center was located.

I am in Memphis area so we most likely wheel a lot of the same locations. Hopefully we will run into each other one time and get to wheel together.

I am always looking for podcasts to listen to at work, will have to search for the Jeep Talk Show that you mentioned in your original post about your mod. Is there a particular episode(s) that you are in there?

Fuckin sweet. I love out of the box thinking. its probably harder to adapt a JT suspension to a TJ than to just make your own custom arms, but cool. When I was making my flat fender 3 link front suspension, I ended up using a JL rear trackbar (pumpkin on opposite side), cutting one end off but keeping the bend. Welding in a threaded bung. It is perfect..

If you kept geometry even remotely close to a JL suspension you will be happy. The rear of a JT is kind of goofy. The frame separation is greater than the axle separation. Same with the 5 link rams. It does work well though. My JT could boogie through the bumps and never had a rear tire bounce on a climb. So could my ram. I heard complaints of hoping in sand under full throttle, but I never experienced it.

Yup, I'm going to set up in an empty parking lot and see if I can record the squat and dive. I know I can do the calculator, but I'd rather see it in action vs on paper.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep it to the 2-1/2" lift (LCG), and all of my steering components are above the knuckle which puts it kissing the frame at full bump. I'm even considering notching the frame on the passenger side for a little more room for my drag link to come up.

What kind of up travel does this leave you? I kept the y-link up front to avoid having that be my limiting factor - regardless this is a fun and interesting project that you are playing with!
