TJ over it's head in water (still drove it home!)

Update to this post from back in Jul of 2023. I'm from North East Arkansas and so far have always driven my TJ to all my wheeling adventures.

Since the "drowning" I've driven this TJ all over the country including TX, AZ, UT, KS, MO, IN, IL, KY and TN. Any pictures or videos of my Jeep with the Genright fenders on it are from after this incident.

I finally decided to make a quick "after" video showing what little video of the recovery, drive home, and repair I have.
This stretches from Jul 1st of the event to Oct of completion (even though I was already driving again by Aug).

Here it is.

Damn, I forgot that happened a couple weeks after I met you at Hidden Falls.

I see that you decided to edit out the duck.

I laughed out loud SO HARD when the wipers came on as the water came up over the hood!
It is amazing how things turned out. Awesome job.

Funny how that works. I sank my FJ40 years ago. Sat submerged for 2 days as well. 4WD light worked for the first time along with some other that came on. New battery, a oil and gear fluids swap and drove it for years after that. Never could get the stink outta the seats though.

I just set the hose on mine and left it running for a long time... then left them out in the sun for hours... still have them in the TJ, no smell. The carpet however would sour everytime they got wet so I bit the bullet and installed Armorlite in it. I told my wife when it came in (shortly after black Friday) "Thanks for Christmas!!! I love it!!!"lol...
I'm SUPER happy with the Armorlite... expensive but SO worth it.

Matter of fact... I think I'll make a thread for that install. I'll insert the link to it when I get it started.

Did you compare with Bed Tred or Bed Rug when you pulled the trigger on Armorlite?
