So, a shakedown drive after I got my OME 2.5" lift done. I didn't make it out of the driveway. I had a thunk in the steering wheel whenever I turned it to the right, not left. I didn't really feel it when going down the road but turning it from full lock left to full lock right, it would thunk, sometimes twice. It was random and not always doing it at the same point turning. My lift included sway discos, shocks, springs and track bars. I look and I look, nothing rubbing, no marks on anything. Finally, I got it, turning the wheel really slow, I heard it, it actually sounded like it was inside the cab. And it was, almost. Apparently, when I lifted it, it moved the steering shaft enough to move it to a new, dry (and probably dirty) spot. The shaft was turning the rubber grommet that it goes through the firewall in, instead of turning inside of it. Well, that grommet, for some odd reason has nubs on it. They are at the 3-6-9-12 o'clock positions. The shaft would turn the grommet and those nubs would catch and then thunk past a joint on the shaft. A little dry lube on it, problem solved.
