Thoughts on this purchase?

How is the frame? It's hard to tell from the photos but in some of them it looks like there's some rust.

Going to have my mechanic give it a once over tomorrow. Will snap some photos of the frame while it's up on the lift.

Did you wind up having the mechanic look over it or decided against it before going ahead with the extra inspection?

Sounds like too many red flags and in CA you can not change the title to new buyers name with a CEL light. So dealers or private sellers could not sell that vehicle.

That is an odd law. As long as the CEL is disclosed, what difference would it make? You assume risk on every vehicle you purchase. That law would incentivize sellers disabling the CEL, making the risks far greater.

You need a smog to register a vehicle for the first time(and every couple years depending on your county).a check engine light fails the visual part of a smog.1973 and older are smog exempt.

It is supposed to be the sellers responsibility but car guys usually just sign a paper saying they will take care of it themselves if it is a project vehicle.

The pukes in government want to get rid of everything but teslas by making it harder to keep older cars on the road.

Looks nice, but the fact that the gearing is already in question and they have the ad listed as a manual transmission would put me off; not to mention the CEL and talk of DW. Seems like a deal would be under 10k considering you'll probably be throwing 2k in it right away.

100% agree. Was anticipating $2k to get it right. Shocks are shitty too. Also not in love with that 4spd. auto.
