On my 06 Rubicon I have 4 spots for factory switches.
1) rear defrost
2) rear wipe/wash
3) ?????🤔
4) axle lock

What is supposed to be in #3? It has a 4 wire plug hooked into the dummy cover. It must be pre wired for a reason.
5) BONUS QUESTION
The rear defroster on the hardtop has become detached where one of the wires attaches to the glass. Best way to fix? I'm thinking to flux and re-solder it back on, but worry that the soldering iron's concentrate heat might crack the glass.😱 Sugestions?

The third switch is for the overdrive button on automatic equipped models.

Not sure about the defroster, but your idea sounds like it would work to me.

The factory successfully soldered that connection somehow. Maybe do the work in the sun on a hot day?

Bonus bonus question....can you replace the bulb that illuminates the switch that comes on with the park lights?
