I have a 2 97's so I can swap parts to test.
The one never had the speedometer since I bought it.
So far I have:
I changed the sensor - still no go. The old sensor looks pretty new too.
I even swapped gauge clusters - they both work fine in my other Jeep.
Does anyone know how these work? Sensor to ECM to cluster?
No codes
Wiring diagram, where can I find one?
On a side note, I tried finding an explanation of the speed sensor and the gears. Why must the sensor be at the right clocking position?
The sensor and gear do not look like they are offset. I thought turning the sensor would engage the gears.
How do the gears connect? If I change to a bigger gear on the speedo, how do they still mesh? is the other gear angled? I couldn't find a diagram.
The sad part is I work for Dodge and the technicians have no idea. Everything they bring up. My answer is no it doesn't that you are thinking newer. Unfortunately, the older tech we had left when the service manager left. They didn't know if there was a manual digitally.
