2000 TJ with 04 5.3 and 4L60e. How do I hookup the Autometer speedometer? To the original sensor? There’s two unused sensors. Mid NP231 and one in original sensor location. Think the mid is 4x4 switch for dash indicator.

1st LS swap and down to this on wiring.

Thanks in advance. Doug

Are you using the OEM dash? If so, you just hook up the OEM sensor in the tail housing of the T-case.

At the tailhousing of the transfer case — after all possible gear ratio changes.

So the very top one is the GM VSS and that would probably be the best one to figure out how to tap into for the Autometer gauge but be cautious as that sensor is needed for the 4L60 to shift and electrical inference I would imagine could do some wonky things. As you stated mid is 4x4 indicator and bottom is Jeep VSS. I am not sure exactly how to hook up Autometer gauges, but I would be willing to bet they are easier to hook up to a GM VSS rather than a Jeep VSS. GM and Jeep put out different signals, but I was able to convert the signal from a Jeep VSS to something the GM PCM could read for tuning purposes. Had to tweak values in HPtuners but it works great so far but I am also running a manual and do not depend on the VSS signal to the GM PCM.

Thank you! This is one of the hardest things to figure out.

Ill see if I can find pictures of the little device I made to convert signals from Jeep VSS to GM PCM. I would not use this device for the transmission shifting reasons but for a speedometer it should be fine.
