Texas Roll Call

It been one hell of a time for Texas. The Cajun Navy has done a great job in rescues. Seen Army trucks, off road dump trucks, regular dump trucks, A monster truck pulling 3 john boats, row boats , canoes, diesel pickups, one International PU, tractors hauling wagons,Road tractor pulling flatbed trailer. Everyone wants to be a little part of history....but not like this.
Texas has some giving people, helping other is what we do in our own little way. We do still have Hero's.

We are good to go here. This morning the water was 2" below our concrete porch and went all the way to the house on the other side of the street. We are lucky as our electric is still on. The houses across the street have none. We have been charging cell phones for our neighbors since Friday. The storm has passed South of us in the gulf and is heading toward the Cameron La area. Winds are only 40-45 MPH. Heavy rain has slacked off today. Water in the street reached the side step on the LJ so I moved it into the driveway.
Thanks for the concern, Harvey, please go away. We have Cabin fever as do our cats!

I'm glad you're okay! I was starting to worry after you were quiet over the weekend!

Looks like the Policeman is jealous hehe...I did see a queue of cars with boats on trailers lined up on the main road leading into Houston I think...there were a few JKs and thought I saw a couple TJs too.....Love the sense of community there right now

He probably is jealous!

I saw that video too of all the trucks and boats- so amazing. It took me 2 hours to drop off donations for the Dallas shelters and another 2 to donate blood this week because of how many people are helping out. Texas is really the best.

I saw on the news today that roughly 85% of Houston home owners do not have flood insurance... damn, that's tragic.

i took the boat and picked up over 100 people from just one neighborhood in Spring (about 25 miles north of Houston). Lot's of people need lots of prayers. we literally launched the boat from the middle of the street. we were there about 11 hours and the waters rose about 4 feet while we were there. When it got too dark to safely operate, the water was rushing very strong and the boat trailer had to be backed way down - too far for me to go without stalling out. There was a guy with a 2 door JK that was running 40's - yes 40's that hooked the trailer up, backed down, and loaded me up. Jeeps are a serious tool! Too many to count have been deployed to take people to safety. i know you've seen a ton of pics on tv - these are of the major N/S freeway from Dallas to Houston - I-45. The depth finder was showing 8 feet as i was going down the feeder road along the highway. Crazy

Thanks for being a hero for my fellow Texans @CRGR
Absolutely.
We're catching hell down here in Wharton from the Colorado river flooding. I helped my son in law rescue people, dogs, and even livestock. Cattle country and it's not been good. My son in laws cousin lost 250 head of cattle yesterday. We're in an RV in there driveway and can't get to my house so I have no idea what's left. Stay positive and move forward Texas

We have no idea of the scale of the damage Harvey has done...glad to here people are just rolling up their sleeves and just getting stuck in with no hesitation, regardless of anything.

Damn @CRGR, that's crazy just looking at those photos. It barely even looks like neighborhoods anymore, it looks like a river!

You my friend are a true badass! Thanks for showing them what it means to be an American and helping out the people in need. Bravo... Bravo!
