Storage rack

Hey all, anyone build a rear storage rack for an Lj that hangs from roll bar from about 3" behind rear seat to just inside rear hardtop and hangs about 6" below hardtop? I would like to beable to slid fishing rods, camp chairs etc up there. Anyone got pics and any ideas on free hanging with straps. Drilling and bracing from wheel wells or welded to roll bar? All other manufactured racks are too low and really not effective use of space.

Not exactly what you're looking for I think since you mentioned fishing poles but maybe you'll get some ideas on mounting and all, there is some talk on an inside rack starting here:

Not exactly what i'm thinking. Safety is a concern so dont want the actual rack to be over rear seat back rest. If ever have a back seat passenger dont need a head injury. I do like the material. Id like to make it out of light weight aluminum...my catfish poles are about 6.5 feet long. Camp chairs..all up high leaves room for cooler and camp equipement.

I looked at several commercially available racks attached to the roll bar before I abandoned that idea.

That is sweet. Too bad I don't have an LJ. I may work on something like it though.

That might be tough since the roll bar doesn't go all the way to the back of the hard top.
Not much to hang it from.
