Been Jeeping for decades but still only decent mechanically so differential skills are still beyond my skill set. I recently have vibration when under load ( accelerating/ diving up a grade) I’ve been looking/ checking things and found this…I have a Dana 35 with Yukon super 35, ARB and 4.10’s. My spider gears are not in good shape and had metal in the diff housing Would this be a Yukon or ARB spider gear set? Thanks for any input. Also is this a possible cause of my vibration issue? I can’t seem to find another reason. BTW. Both engine and trans are totally rebuilt by very capable shop and have less than 20k miles.

I thought if you had a Super 35 you had to have a locker.

The driveline vibration could be due to anything in the driveline. Typically, a vibration while accelerating up a grade is a rear pinion angle issue. What amount of lift do you have? Do you have an SYE, DC, and adjustable rear control arms?

He has an arb. They have spider gears. Doubt its the vibration though.

Contact an arb dealer to get parts.if the spiders are worn out.

TJ has 3.5 inch lift, 4 link, SYE and Tom Woods drive shaft. I have had the TJ for a few years now and this vibration just started. The vibration only happens under load and not when coasting. I'm really at a loss as my long time and very capable mechanic (30 years) and myself can't seem to figure it out. One other thing....The vibration does not happen when in 4WD (hi or low) even when climbing a grade but obviously I'm at much lower speeds. Only seems to happen when in 2Hi at road speeds. All fluid levels are good and not dirty (trans/ T case/ diffs). Also no visible damage to any components.
Thanks again for any input.

If the only mechanical thing you can find wrong is "spider gears are not in good shape and had metal in the diff housing" then I'd start there.

After that I'd look at ujoints and centering ball in the DC joints of the rear shaft. Worn splines could also be an explanation.

These are all solutions I'd look at only when having vibrations under load, and not under coast.
