Solar eclipse craziness

You guys can come out from under your beds now.
Why are people so freaked out? Don't they teach basic things like the solar system in school anymore? What does it mean? Well, see, what it means is that the moon came between the sun and the earth along this narrow strip. WOW! Crazy! Let's go NUTZ.
That’s just crazy to me that people don’t know these basic things like we have only ever seen one side of the moon (unless you’re an astronaut and flew around it). Or the dark side being lit during the eclipse. Like what?
I guess it’s cool, sorta, but not so much. I think people just want to put on the glasses and take selfies mostly.
I saw one pic from a friend who caught a solar flare when it was at near full eclipse. Kinda cool that we could see the actual cause of global warming rather than an idiot like Al Gore.
Like when they are all over Boeing because a cowling came off an engine that was manufactured by General Electric and maintained by Southwest Airlines?
None of which changes the fact that DEI has destroyed the airline industry (among other things).

We hosted an old friend and his wife from DC (he works for NASA at Goddard now). His wife is an avid photographer and they chase eclipses. She took hundreds of photos. This one shows several flares:
I'm in the path of totality. I walked out of work to see it. Shit was cool.
The fact I left a forklift in the middle of a walkway was frowned upon. It was not busy.
It was not crazy. We did not need schools closed. We didn't need the fucking national guard.
5 hours until the parade left town. 6 mile per hour average speed. I can see why school was canceled here...buses would have ran out of gas before bringing the kids back home.

Some members are still in their Y2K bunkers. They didn't believe the announcement that everything was fine.
Oh, and there was a police chase when Jeep went 60mph+ the wrong way down the road passing everyone. So one of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
