As the title says, I'm looking to buy my youngest daughter a TJ. Bought an O1 Sport for our oldest and it's been a great learner car. Our youngest has come on board and ditched the idea of a C3 vette, 80's/90's Firebird, etc....

What she wants is a white, might settle for silver TJ. Having issues finding one that isn't modded out with lift, big tires, etc, etc. I have stumbled upon one that is a salvage title, looks clean, but curious how big of deal that might be? Insurance doesn't care.

Oh...I was looking at Saraha's because of the painted fenders (which she wants to wrap), but what's the pros/cons vs the sport and the X? What I see is brakes and maybe the dana 44.

Sahara's have 3.07 and 3.73 gears like all other 4.0 TJs. Sport/Sahara models can have a Dana 44 rear axle (3.73) or a Dana 35 with 3.07s/3.73s. X models don't have a Dana 44 option. I've had a couple of white TJs, including a Sahara.

Dependent on what state a rebuilt title can mean different things. Here in KY it could have been under water. The other side is these days a small bump will total a vehicle due to outrageous body shop prices. Might check into that one before jumping in. I believe carfax will somewhat detail what the salvage is about. Me personally, Id never buy a salvage vehicle unless beyond a shadow of a doubt proof can be had it was a no flood, no big wreck it was in. I learned this from living in a state loaded with xxxxxx owned chop shops selling junked cobbled together vehicles.

It's Kansas and I haven't seen a salvage title be an issue with Insurance, but I hear you on the flood damage thing. Supposedly, this one was hit in the front, fender, grill and hood and insurance totaled it for that. Repairs have been made. I'm not big on the salvage title thing myself, but maybe for a kids car IF everything checks out, it isn't an issue. He's posted videos of the frame being ok, so then it goes to airbags and such.....

Salvage title will hurt when you resale the vehicle, if your gonna keep it no big deal. On a salvage title vehicle I would offer half of wholesale. JMHO

Hit @AndyG up for his white one!! Never been wrecked, but it has lost a wheel and broken an axle. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I have a 2001 White Sahara, 4.0L, Auto, AC hard and soft tops, tow equipment all included. 130,250 miles. Thought it would be a forever keeper, but just not using it as I thought I would. Excellent factory condition, needs nothing, not posted for sale as I go back and forth about selling. Only used to take the dogs to the beach and I also have a Tundra to do that. No rust always in a dry client mostly CA. If interested asking $12,500 (pretty firm but can talks), when purchased with 128,886 miles it went straight to mechanic for all services since I'm not a mechanic and 69 years old did not want any problems. It needed nothing but changed all fluids including diffs & transfer case. Plugs, water pump, belts and hoses I would not hesitate to drive it across the good old USA tomorrow. Located in Eureka, CA, clean title and registration up to date and passed smog when purchased around 6 months ago. previous owners two sisters that towed behind their motor home and added 5,000 miles in 5 years. Note I add about 20-30 miles per week.

Dang, that's clean looking can you send me some more pics? I'm in Kansas and funny thing is I just bought a Yukon Denali from San Diego last weekend. Transport hopefully picking it up tomorrow! I'm not sure what that would cost to ship, I'm guessing similar to the Yukon.

Everyone agrees the salvage should reduce price, but these things aren't easy to price regardless. Kelly Blue Book, seems very out of touch compared to what's being asked. The 04 with Salvage title is asking $10,500, but blue book fair (looks clean but that salvage title) is about $6500. Then there is an 02 3 hrs away with a few more miles, that is either a sport or sarahs (listed as Saraha Sport, but has black plastic fenders and can't cleanly read side) for $10,000. Not sure what KBB is on that. I'm afraid, the salvage one is overpriced and Eddy's looks to be great as well, but I'd have to have shipped and I'm sure that's $1500, just like my Yukon is. Hmmmm.....but it has 2 tops and is a Saraha, not an X.

I wouldn't pay that for that salvage title. There are ones all day long up and down the west coast going in the 9-12k price range.

I'm looking for a white one myself for the white as we sort of have a theme going on. White Power Wagon, White Escalade, White Jeep, White house, lol. Can't have a blue Jeep in the driveway. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You definitely need a blue one!! I can't get a white one if everyone else keeps buying them up.
I feel you though, all our cars tend to be red. Don't really set out for that, but it's happened! Red K1500 2 door yukon, Red Yukon XL, Red Jeep, Red C3 vette, red on my 60 suburban, red on my bass boat and I just bought a 20 Yukon to replace the XL and ended up with Red again! Don't worry, daughter wants to vinyl wrap the hinges, fenders and such with Pink to make it more Girlie. Pink is a shade of Red.
