Savvy transfer case shifter cable install?

Right now im in the middle of a clutch job the turned into a complete overhaul of the drive train. . . New seals, u joints, exhaust pipes.

Today is clean up every part. Just pulled out the degreaser and pressure washer. Hopefully next weekend I will have it together.

Am I understanding this that the pictures are for the 231? Account the parts I received for the 241 kit, do not have a clevis pin or clevis or the lever piece.

That is correct. The 231 gets a new shift lever and clevis to attach to it. The 241 retains the OEM shift lever and you attach the cable to it with a quick disconnect ball stud instead of a clevis. There isn't enough room beside the DC joint for the ball stud on the 231 so the center line has to be shifted over towards the case with the clevis.

Just finished the install. Took me about 4 hrs just taking my time, wrestling with nuts and bolts. Easy? Yes. PITA? Yes. Worth it? So far..yes. Definitely shifts much smoother. I hate taking down the transfer skid because it means having to drop the UCF oil pan tranny skid too but I did it because I just couldn’t get the nuts off with it on. I did not disconnect the drive shaft. Hardest part was getting the top nut off the transmission housing and removing the stupid rubber grommet from the lever. Definitely a worthy upgrade. Shifts like butter.

I just installed mine today. I ended up putting a socket on the right hand side of the grommet and used a pair of channellock pliers to pop it out. It worked perfectly the first time trying.

For anyone looking for instructions - here is a good youtube video by bleepinjeep. It is for the Novak but it is nearly identical to the Savvy.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have already gleaned lots of great info. Thanks! I was having trouble shifting into 4Low and someone suggested getting a cable to replace the mechanical linkage. OMG! Just finished it yesterday and it shifts soooooo much better. I highly recommend!

Forgot to mention I used the Savvy Offroad cable. I was impressed with the quality. I was not too happy with some of the angle put on the cable from the mount to the levers though. I may try to adjust it again later.

Said it was a piece of cake doing it that way.

Line up, how? Doesn't quite reach? If so, you can adjust the cable housing also.

When i did mine. I left the cable loose in the brackets then attached the cable to both sides. Then tightened the cable in place. This allowed me to fine tune the adjustment
