Looking at buying the Rough Country SYE and driveshaft for my 2000 Sahara as I continue to fix things on it.

4.0/ 5 speed. 2 OME HD springs.

Ordering either 32x11.50r15 OR 33x12.50r15 Cooper STT pros today.

The driveshaft Rough Country has lists 4-6" lift. I have 2" OME HD springs. Will the shaft be too long/cause issues?

I don't see the need to modify the drive train for a 2" lift.

I was running it with 31s, new Spicer U-Joints and a 1" T-Case drop and had some vibrations. Was undrivable before the T-case drop, so I'd imagine with 32s or 33s it'll be back to the same issue.

Did you have the pinion at the same angle as the driveshaft or as the TC case? The pinion should only be at the same angle as the driveshaft if you are using a double cardigan.

I haven't adjusted pinion angle with current set up.. I was under the impression with TC drop it wasn't necessary to mess with.

I know with SYE/ DC shaft it has to be played with.

Consider sourcing the SYE and driveshaft separately. Install an SYE from JB Conversions or another reputable company (not rough country), install some adjustable rear control arms, then measure for the driveshaft. Order the driveshaft from Adams or Tom wood's

That driveshaft will be far to long for a 2" lift. 33's also won't fit well without some additional clearance. I would suggest adding a body lift and a motor mount lift. The body lift will give you the clearance needed for the tires and the motor mount lift might be enough to get rid of the vibrations. If you still opt for a SYE and driveshaft call Tom Woods Driveshaft. They are excellent and will get you set up with a new shaft made to fit your Jeep. You will also need a set of adjustable control arms to rotate your pinion.
In regards to your choice in tire size I have some experience with the 2 sizes. I ran 32's for a while on my Jeep. I found them to be a bit of an oddball size. They don't really perform better than 31's but still have the negative aspects of 33's like weight and the need for lower gears. I would either stick with 31's or get 33's if you find yourself needing the larger tires where you offroad.

I'm more than likely going to get the SYE from RC and driveshaft from Tom Woods. I haven't heard of a single bad thing about the SYE from RC... yet.

Really appreciate the experience with 32s. I was leaning towards the 33s anyways.

Not a huge fan of body lifts, so may just go 33s + 1 inch coil spacer + SYE route. Mostly just want to do it as right as I can, as cost effective as possible.

Don't let anyone tell you the Rough Country SYE is bad. I have it on my TJ. It is identical to the other ones on the market that are not the ultra slim versions. The off-road shop that installed mine didn't know RC made one and said they will start using them. For the cost, they are a great product.
