I've been researching rocker guards/rock sliders for my TJ, and after reading through a number of threads, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the Genrights.

I'm not fully clear on the boatside/non-boatside, mini/non-mini options though. For my non-stretched TJ that still has the stock fender flares (I have a 3.5" RockJock lift with 33s on stock canyons), I wanted to get the version with the step, and trying to decide between these two options (I'll get the backing plates for whichever one I choose).

They both state ww2ww coverage... so I'm not clear on what the "mini" brings to the table.

I think the "mini" is part of the "boatside" term/label. The length and application is the same. As for the "mini boatside" vs. non-boatside, the guards at the 2nd link are a simpler forming, just a single 90 degree bend. The boatsides are, well, boatsides with two bends forming the full 90.

Gotcha. Sounds like the "mini" is the best option then.

Anything more complicated than just getting them powder coated on the install? I'm hoping to avoid any "fab" work.

I would highly recommend going with Flux off-road versions. The Genrights do not attach to the torque box which is a major design flaw. Klay is one of the best people you will ever meet and will make any amount of time to help answer your questions before, during and after the install. I originally bought the standard Genright rock sliders and once I realized the design issues and the fact the step really just gets in the way, I sold them and bought the Fluxes.

Simply could not be happier with the purchase.

I would also do a search on the forum as there are a number of previous posts on the genrights. The mini-boat version will require hammering over the bottom flange of the tub and fenders for clearance to the slider which is something I did not want to do.

I have Genright skids w/ the step. No issues, install was easy, I just painted mine, been about 2.5 years w/ them, I did add backing plates on the inside of the tub

If you get the mini boat (i would) you need to trim as they are 4" longer than standard. Not a big deal as you need to paint anyway...

I don't mind bending over the seam. I do like how tight these appear to fit up. I'll need to read more about the torque box issue to understand the implications.
