I called them back n them
Just tried it, you are correct!
I know you said you usually get nutserts off Amazon. Would you be able to post a link? Don’t want to cheap out if I end up going the modify route
I've used nutserts from Amazon and from McMaster. Both are zinc plated. I don't know anything about the long term reliability of either. I assume McMaster are better simply because they are a company dedicated to fasteners.
I do know that when I need different crush depth or neck width nutserts I go with McMaster. They are significantly more expensive, but I can get very specific fasteners.
Genright will send you nutserts with the sliders if the install instructions call for them. Then you will know the neck width they use for the 5/16-18 nutsert. There are varying neck widths (and crush depths). You might be able to call GR in advance if you want to know the neck width so you can get them on order. I'd send you some if you know the neck width and need some. I've got a couple hundred.
Hopefully you'll get a nutsert tool for install. It will go much faster than doing each one by the manual method. Something like this comes with various mandrels and some nutserts. There are many options on Amazon.
