Rock Jock Springs Bowing Outwards

Mrblaine, I'm not sure also. when I called rock jock about this problem, they mention that they recently have a new manufacture that is making their spring .so that might be the case. I'm waiting for their replay back to see if I can get an exchange.

I just ordered some RockJock 9131RH1P (rear springs) from a company named Complete Street Performance. I am installing them later today after they arrive. If there are any abnormalities I’ll let you know, but I suspect if they just started working with a new manufacturer that mine or from an older manufacturer.

The rear rock jock spring (CE-9131RH3P) that I order with the front was fine...The front was the Problem.

The 3P are the one’s I removed from the rear. I could have passed them on to you. Oh well! I just needed about 1” less lift back there.

Dang lolx, the Forums said to get these if you had and LJ, that's why I got it. It sure do sit pretty high but I don't have a spair tires yet so will see how it looks after some 35 back there.

I hope it works out for you. I had 5 1/4” lift with all my gear in the back and me in the seat. No spare. I deleted that.

All I can think of with the spring bowing like that is that something went wrong in the tempering process that results in the spring deforming under load.

Anything is possible, surprising that they got into production though since I know that John tests everything first. Hopefully this is just a little manufacturing growing pain and they get it sorted. It would not be the first time that production doesn't match samples, prototypes and first articles, we've all been bitten hard by that.

yea, I know these spring as supposed to softer then other but it almost look like its too soft. I'll report back once I can get a replacement

As long as the springs are manufactured correctly the spring rate should be durable. In the grand scheme a spring rate difference of 100lb/in is not that big a deal.

If you bought them based on that, send them back.

Yeah, I ordered an anti rock where one side of the torsion bar splines were undersized and arms would not clamp on shaft. Waited 3 months for them to resource torsion shafts and ship to me. No issues now.

I have to say, they were more direct than any other company i have dealt with.

By aiming for a longer spring you’re trying to increase shock travel at a higher lift without unseating the springs.

If you bought them based on that, send them back.

I bought these spring base on what I read on the forums for the longest spring length for travel.
