ETA: I wasn't looking for or expecting more power in either my XJ or this TJ. Just wanted to make life easier when I changed plugs.

My understanding is their early brackets didn't have the upper support. They later updated them.

Correct, the earlier bracket did not have that added support. Mine failed and they warrantied the bracket 2 years later with the new design. It’s been solid ever since.

UPDATE: I purchased and installed the Blue Streak OEM style coil rail and it is working perfectly now and is more proper.

For anyone searching this in the future, if you ever need replacement wires, simply get the ones for a 97-99 Wrangler 4.0

That's what I did. The coil was for an 08 Wrangler and the wires for a 97-99 Wrangler. All from Rock Auto. It all went together fine.
