G’day guys, just went ahead and purchased an entire dash assembly for my 97. Thought I’d just replace the entire thing rather than paint the old one. But now I dont know if the new one will fit because its out of an 03 and I know there were a few changes made. Can someone chime in and let me know if this 03 dash is compatible with my 97. Cheers

Have you put a tape measure to it to see any difference length and width? Seems like the bodies have been the same for ten years so I’m guessing they are very close to the same. Dunno, don’t have any experience but wanted to follow your post.

I didn’t measure just assumed they’d be the same which was pretty stupid. But for the most part they do appear pretty identical except for the centre bezel. Should arrive in a week or two and I’ll have a better look. I really hope it fits without much modification

I do believe there are some difference, especially in the way the center bezel attaches, but I'm not sure if it's anything that would prevent it from working other than the differences in the center bezel. I can tell you for sure the tan from a 97 and tan from an 03 is different, so hopefully that's not your color.

This is the dash I purchased from the wreckers. RHD because I’m in Aus. As long as the dash its self is the same i can use pieces from my current

That center bezel clips in differently old vs new. At least on LHD models. It's not a show stopper, but it's different. I'm not aware of any other differences. Not to say there aren't any.

Keep in mind that if you do have to use the new bezel, it fits a different stereo (or installation kit if you’re using an aftermarket stereo), and different switch panel.

I’ll possibly upgrade to a different stereo at the same time so I’ll order a new bezel to suit, cheers mate
